Football:

Football has always been a huge part of Mountain View High School. After months of intense game speed practices, the varsity team this year they’ve won most of their games and plan to win more. They also plan to beat Bend High at the Civil War Fall Cougargame. “We also want to win state this year,” says Jacob Hollister, senior quarterback. “We can win by working hard.” The JV team is doing well also, winning half of their games so far. They want to go to state and they will with their hard, physical practices. The freshman team is working hard to get a 60-yard touchdown. Our football teams are working hard to make our school proud.

Cross Country:

After five sore practices a week, a lot of perseverance, and having fun together, the Mountain View Cross Country team is ready to race. The Cross Country team this year is doing amazing, and becoming more like a family at every practice. “This is the strongest team ever,” says Aspen Hassell, a junior on the JV team. “Were going to beat Summit this year; they better watch their backs!” With that confidence, they will do it. The coach’s advice helps the team to remember to work together and be focused. “Commit yourself to everything you do, together we are limitless!”

Volleyball:

The Mountain View High School varsity volleyball team is working extra hard this year trying to prove people (who think they can’t win their games) wrong. All the while, they are having fun and trying to get to state. They will, if they keep the positive attitude. The JV team is winning a lot while becoming closer as the sport season goes on. Their team goal is planning to beat Summit.

Water polo:

They Mountain View Water Polo team is doing great this year. They practice 5 days a week from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, trying to work hard to accomplish their goal; they want to beat Summit this year. “We have all good players, and were doing okay,” says John Murphy, junior. With that talent, they work the players hard, make goals, and good driving to accomplish their goal.

Cyclist:

The newest sport in the Bend La Pine Schools is one that everyone should join. If you like mountain biking, racing and just having fun, then biking is definitely for you. They practice twice a week and on Saturday, they race against different teams around Oregon. Their goal is to beat Corvallis because they came second in state last year. They also need more girls to join to get a better advantage. If you’re a cyclist, then this sport is for you.

Girls Soccer:

The girl’s varsity soccer team is doing really well this year. “All the girls are playing well together,” Edna Ibarra, junior. They are working hard to become the best Mountain View varsity soccer team. Like the boys and the girl’s JV soccer team, their major rival is Summit.
